Run a supervised pilot with us.
In development at the IDEEAS Lab and preparing supervised pilots. We are looking for research teams to run them with us. A pilot is a real study, run on Caracal by your team, with the lab alongside.
Who it suits.
A recurring question
Your study asks the same people a few questions every day or every week, over weeks or months.
Answers in their words
You want people to answer by speaking, by writing, or either, and to keep every answer for analysis.
Your own approval
Your study has, or is seeking, its own ethics approval, with consent text your team writes.
What a pilot involves.
Built first for a weekly study of how 50 to 200 practicing engineers make, justify and revisit design decisions. Pilots are how it learns from other studies.
Your team runs the study. The lab sets it up with you and stays in touch while it runs, and what gets in your way shapes what we build next.
Before you apply, read what it doesn’t do yet, so the pilot is planned around what Caracal does today. Pilots are arranged one at a time, and there is no pricing yet.
How to apply.
Write to akatz4@vt.edu with your study in a few lines:
- Who takes part, and roughly how many people.
- How often you’ll ask, and for how long.
- Whether they’ll speak, write, or both.
- Where your ethics approval stands.
We’ll write back to talk it through.
